About Us

GEM Restaurant is a franchise brought in from Chennai, India, by Malaysian Segadevan.

The first restaurant opened along Jalan Gasing in 1996. He has added another two outlets since -- one in Brickfields and another in Damansara Utama.

Gem serves northern Indian food and caters to locals as well as tourists, mainly from India. At Gem, you can also request for Jain food which is prepared without anything that grows underground -- no onion, no garlic, no potato and so forth.

In order to maintain quality and standards, Gem in Chennai has seconded an operations manager to Malaysia.
